  1. i agree with all you said great tips

  2. Convenience items are a rip off. Get crockpot ingredients ready the night before, put in crockpot in a.m. and done.

  3. I love looking at the meat area for mark downs, seeing as I live alone I take the meat divide it up and vacuum seal it. I’m also trying my first No Spend month, going to do my best and not eat out.

  4. I don’t have a $500 grocery budget because after paying my bills, for gasoline and other expenses, like cat food, I don’t have that much left. However, since there is only one of me, I don’t need $500. Maybe 120 would be a better figure. $20 a week and $20 extra for stocking up?

  5. Fetch has a reward game spins right now

  6. Nice to see a happy couple

  7. These guys remind me so much of my parents. I appreciate them and their frugal methods so much!

  8. I prefer Kroger or Gerbes because of their clearance section and I get immediate cash back on top of the coupons. We’ve also saved using Instacart. We look for promotions like $40 off of $80 when you shop at Gerbes and then I’ll match that with any of the sales items that we can stock up on, then we’re gonna start using that food storage for for meal prep. I’m no longer buying fresh fruit. I just don’t need them fast enough frozen fruit and vegetables.

  9. Our Kroger stores have ads at the door still.

  10. What about the meat / hamburg & spaghetti sauce too go into your beans 🫘 & Rice that adds up too be more money and how many meals do you get out of all of that ????

Where is the link to the perishable food inventory video?

  12. @chaoticallysay2625 November 22, 2024 at 12:14 pm

I have to try looking for bread on sale at kroger or wherever

  13. Leftovers are great for chickens if you have chickens
You waste nothing & free eggs

  14. You guys are great. I love the rice and bean demonstration, especially for the youth watching this video.

  15. I too love fetch.. I just collect points so I can get a $5 virtual visa card and then I use that $5 on my electric bill… fetch also has a spin and win on t h e app that you can use once every 24 hours.. I set my alarm so I don’t miss the opportunity to get anywhere from 5 to 10,000 free points… I just used a $5 reward today on my light bill

  16. Down here in Florida we just got socked with two hurricanes; the first didn’t touch me, but the second knocked out my power and water for one night. Other people down here fared much worse; some lost their homes, others lost power and had no generator as a backup, so they lost everything in their freezer. Many lost water; you have no idea how important drinking water is until you have to do without- for weeks. I am a re-enactor, so I know about preparing and had 6 gallon jugs of water here and a quart jug in case I needed it. I needed it. People in North Carolina, Georgia, South Carolina, and parts of Virginia and Tennessee had it much worse, but the Red Cross was there. Thank God for Clara Barton. I may be a Southerner at heart but she did a good thing by creating the Red Cross

  17. I just love you both! An old gal from Petersburg, West Virginia

  18. Absolutely great tips. Just what I was looking for. I’m trying to save as much as possible

  19. Love my Aldi’s so much I save there

  20. Thank you! New subscriber here!

  21. Love all the tips and all of the videos!

  22. I hope I can get some ideas because I have two 6’ teenage boys who eat us out of house and home.

  23. Recently I did a freezer clean up, I made and got rid of 90 percent of the protein foods from my tall freezer. Then last week I finally went grocery shopping to restock. I saved money during the those days, my kids got tired of chicken 😂. Now I been doing the pantry, the can goods, dried foods cooking them and freezing them. I made bean quinoa chili and I used like 6 cans of beans, tomatoes etc 😅.

  24. I found Starbucks Holiday blend ( 12 oz.) For 89 cents a bag! Loaded my neighbor and son in law up! So, when you get multiple red bagged veggies at Kroger- you really can’t make a menu plan before you go??

  25. And Hope gets extra points for you signing up using her link. Our Kroger still has paper ads.

WANT TO SAVE SOME MONEY TAKE THE GROCERY TRIP YOURSELF IT ONLY TAKES A LITTLE WHILE AND THAT’S WHAT WE USED TO DO WHEN LIFE WAS EASIER SO NOW YOU’VE GOT MONEY GRABBERS WHO STEAL YOUR MONEY AND NOT GIVE YOU WHAT YOU’RE LOOKING FOR AND IT’S A COMPLETE SCAM AND RIP-OFF.
STOP USING INSTACART STOP USING THESE APPS THEY’RE THERE TO MAKE YOUR WALLET EMPTY THEY THEY HAVE NO OTHER REASON BUT JUST TO BE A MIDDLEMAN STEALING MONEY FROM THE PUBLIC.

  27. Thank you so much for the advice ❤

  28. @eleanoremameli6641 November 22, 2024 at 12:38 pm

    Is fetch available in Canada?

  29. My folks taught me a lot about making money, but not enough about how to keep more of it. Thank you guys for helping me be more efficient at adulting and enjoying myself while I do it. ❤

  30. Use these great video tips from Hope! I also check the price per ounce or per serving because sometimes now the smallest or mid size package is cheapest. I also hedge against inflation by buying a yearly supply example denture tablets which we use to sanitize toothbrushes and mouth guards. I bought a year:s supply for $20. Currently a year’s supply would be $38. These don’t go on sale. Of course it is just a one year buffer but it all adds up. We are also doing things some would consider extreme like cloth handkerchief, cloth napkins at the table and toilet sprayer instead of toilet paper. Saved several hundred dollars that way last year. My colleague has 3 teen girls and herself. They save $300/year with reusable monthly female products. At work I keep "emergency food" so if I forget my lunch or work overtime I am not tempted by drive thru, delivery, etc. So we reconsider every purchase in terms of annual cost. Maybe spending .50 cents more per week for name brand whatever doesn’t sound like a big deal but it’s $5.50 more per year or $55 over 10 years. Not worth it for us. Love the comparison between diy and readymade.

What sre plant based versions of meat products?

  32. I bought some beautiful tomatoes at a weekend Farmer’s Market in an area of banged up fruit and vegetables marked down significantly. I also bought some ‘cheese bread’ that I sliced immediately and froze. I’ve been using this as a special side of cheesy toast with some butter. My kids grabbed up the cheesy toast first before anything else…so rather than eating it up fast or it getting stale, this way it lasts and can continue to be a special side a few more times. Also, thank you for the reminder to do a fresh food inventory! Wow, does this save me from regretfully tossing rotten food.

  33. @janefromthecountry1820 November 22, 2024 at 12:43 pm

Sweetest, most lovely, family on YouTube. Your channel is so interesting. Thank you. ❤️🙂

  34. Another thing I like to do is buy fresh meat in bulk when it’s on sale due to its approaching expiration date, and then store it in the freezer.

  35. Leftovers are great for chickens if you have chickens
You waste nothing & free eggs

  36. @jessicaordonez3026 November 22, 2024 at 12:48 pm

Can you do another food frugal recipe I love your videos of food prepping

  37. OMG! Yes! You NEED a list! Whenever I don’t take a list, I end up with random items to fill up what I feel I "expected" to spend – but I didn’t get a bunch of items I needed! So, back to the store I go and spend more to get them. Plus some more random items that worked their way into my basket.

  38. The only grocery stores close to me are Walmart and Harp’s. Harp’s is high on everything. Harp’s sale prices are higher than the Walmart regular price. We do have an Allen’s Food Store, but they are higher than Harp’s.

  39. Yea I pay 9600 a year in groceries and fuel …

  40. Did one of your kids go to college ? Just kidding, everything is so expensive I struggle with the cost of food. I’m going to be watching quite a few of your videos learning how to be even more frugal than I am right now, you can always try to get better at saving money

  41. @diegovalimcosta2262 November 22, 2024 at 12:53 pm

May Jesus bless you guys .

  42. @eleanoremameli6641 November 22, 2024 at 12:53 pm

    Available in Canada?

  43. Leftovers are great for chickens if you have chickens
You waste nothing & free eggs

  44. May I suggest rectangle shaped glasses for both of you the next time you’re due for a pair? You will probably like the look! Thx for the video!

  45. Hmmmm, I pretty much remember everything what’s in my refrigerator…. So I know to use the perishables. I almost never throw any kind of food away.

  46. Fetch is only available in the United States

  47. I used to shop Kroger a lot but when they did away with the paper ad I stopped going there. I hate that they were basically forcing everyone to download the damn app just to use their coupons.

  48. i love the idea of using 20% for things that are on sale – that part always confusing me about whether or not it will put me over budget.

  49. I only buy one frozen prepared meal, pizza. The only reason I buy it is on the days I do yard work, I’m usually so exhausted (I’m 74) I need something that required no prep time and frozen pizza fits the bill. The rest of the prepared meals are too salty for my taste, because I cut down of salt years ago and now even restaurant food is like eating a salt lick.

  50. Lots of great advice
